Hello, I’m Rachel. I spent many years working as a primary classroom teacher and subject lead in London, before moving up North to join the STEM Learning team. I keep myself busy with all things primary from developing and collating resources to running sessions on primary courses. I’m really interested in how children learn and also how we can support them to develop thinking and reasoning skills.
As a primary specialist, I have many different areas of interest which include teaching STEM subjects through context. I've worked with ESERO-UK, supporting primary teachers to use Space as a context for learning in science, computing and D&T. If you need anything linked to space, then we have a wide network of support out there- please just ask! I currently work on developing content for primary computing and love finding out how computing links to many of the subjects learnt at primary school.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy swimming and running, (though hope to get faster at it), and generally spending as much time as I can outdoors. I’m to be found on a windy football pitch in the winter and at a sunny, (fingers crossed) cricket match in the summer supporting my son.
