Earthwatch believe that educators are incredible agents in preparing the next generation for the environmental challenges that lay ahead. We seek to build educators' knowledge, confidence and motivation to lead impactful environmental and outdoor learning, inspiring their children and young people to build curiosity of the natural world, create solutions-focused thinking and build a foundation of strong scientific knowledge of the environment. Year after year, these educators are empowered to equip the next generation with the tools and skills needed to succeed in an ever-changing world. This is why we put educators at the heart of Teach Earth.

By working directly with practicing and trainee teachers, we aim to:

  • build teachers' skills, confidence and motivation to teach climate science in an ever-changing world;
  • enable teachers to create sustained and impactful learning experiences with their students and foster a deeper connection with nature;
  • empower teachers to integrate environmental themes across their curriculum teaching;
  • ensure that regular access to high quality green space is an equitable opportunity in all parts of the UK;
  • offer peer learning opportunities to continue engagement and development as members of our Earthwatch Education Community.
