Curriculum for Nature

The RSPB Curriculum for Nature is a teacher training experience taking place over the school academic year from Autumn 2021 - Summer 2022. The RSPB are working with the Association of Science Education (ASE) to develop a CPD programme which ensures curriculum rigour alongside meaningful opportunities for children to learn at greater depth in, about and for nature. Wider Learning

Teachers will experience termly meeting points, engagement tasks and monthly collaboration clinics to support their journey to planning more outdoor curriculum learning. Children will engage in their local environment, becoming active citizens in helping nature in their community.

Fully funded

A place on the Curriculum for Nature is worth £750 but 2021-2022 places can be offered free to Year 1 and Year 4 teachers in Birmingham who complete the course and provide the required evidence of course impact.

The project is funded by the government's Green Recovery Challenge Fund. The fund is being delivered by the National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with Natural England and the Environment Agency.

The deadline for applications is the 7th October 2021 at midday. Register your interest here.
