It is that time of the year again and I felt honoured to represent STEM Learning at the ASE Conference last week. It was such a great event- with loads of info/tips collected, to follow over the coming days as blogs! Watch this space!

I loved meeting many teachers and educators in the primary space/ at the primary swap shop. It was great to share/spread the word about STEM Ambassadors. Such a huge network of dedicated volunteers; many I spoke to are already engaged. As a free resource, getting involved to enhance pupil engagement and wider opportunity goes without saying.

If you are not yet engaged with STEM Ambassadors, check their area on this website or follow the link below. There are 28,000 volunteers waiting to hear from you- from a vast range of careers and companies. It is so important to expose your pupils to various jobs/careers, in turn enhancing their science capital and confidence/self-esteem. Supporting children to learn about a broad range of career options from Key Stage 2 is a must! Many pupils are interested in finding out how to support climate change so sharing ideas about different jobs in this area as well as tech and ‘green’ jobs, could have a huge impact on their future and work towards supporting our future workforce requirements.

Get involved. Once you have familiarised yourself with the platform/booking procedure you will be organising events quickly and successfully for your school going forward.
