Does your little one love LEGO? Are they fascinated by worlds beyond their own? If so, read on because The British Interplanetary Society are running a competition for children related to the 'Women in Space' Theme for 2021 - featuring some fantastic LEGO prizes!

Young people from 4-16 can enter by creating a piece of artwork, making a video or writing a Wikipedia entry related to Women in Space. These could be astronauts, mathematicians, engineers, scientists, lawyers, leaders, or women in any setting furthering space exploration.

There are prizes for three different age categories - 4-6 years, 7-10 years and 11-16 years. Although there is a suggested age for each format (artwork for 4-6 years, video for 7-11 and writing for 12-16) you can enter using any of the formats.

The prizes are:

  • Ages 4-6 – Lego Disney in Space
  • Ages 7-10 – Lego Space Shuttle
  • Ages 11-16 – Expert Lego ISS
  • Best entry across all categories: a personalised message from an astronaut.
  • School with the most entries: Personalised video message from an astronaut to be shown during assembly.
Entries Close 31 August 2021, full details here: https://www.bis-space.com/wsw/competition2021/
