The UK Junior Water Prize: Challenging youth in STEM to create fresh solutions for our global water crisis

Climate change has impacted on both the availability and quality of water, due to a variety of stressors including :

✓ Increasing frequency of extreme weather events

✓ Inequalities in access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) services

✓ Rising water demand against a backdrop of water scarcity

✓ The increasing acidification of oceans impacting marine life

✓ Water pollution from industry and agriculture affecting water quality and biodiversity

In a competition organised by CIWEM & The Environment Agency, they're challenging the brightest young minds in the UK under 20 to think big about water and develop an innovative, yet practical research project that will improve the quality of our environment.

The winning entry will qualify for an all-expenses paid trip to represent the UK and their school at the Stockholm Junior Water Prize competition in Sweden with a chance to win the cash award of $15,000 USD!

Submit your project idea by midnight (GMT) on 04 Feb 2022 with a short video or written abstract - find out more here.
