Here at STEM Community HQ we are excited to announce our next phase of development with the launch of the first of our career-stage specific groups.

The Early Careers Clubs are groups for members working on the early career framework, they are there to support you.  In these groups you can ask for ideas/support, ask any questions you might have regarding the ECF and teachers standards, seek peer to peer support from others undergoing the same process.  The groups are supported by a wealth of experience including current and former ITT/|NQT mentors and SCITT leads.

You can find the groups here:
Early Careers Club - 11-19
Early Careers Club - Primary

In the groups you will also find discussion links to a variety of CPD and resources which you can use to help you evidence teachers standards in order to gain QTS or to support your successful completion of your NQT year. Examples of such CPD include the Summer School for NQTs teaching 11-16 science and the Summer School for NQTs teaching A level which take place every year at the close of the summer term and are appropriate for those either completing or embarking on their NQT year.

The Early Careers Clubs are closely linked to the STEM Learning Professional Development Pathway for Early Careers Teachers, designed for new or recently qualified secondary teachers, this pathway will support you through your first few years of teaching.

Designed and delivered by subject experts, the pathway begins by exploring the fundamental aspects of teaching secondary science before progressing to more in-depth approaches designed to embed best practice in your classroom.

Once you have completed the pathway, you will receive the STEM Learning Early Career Teacher accreditation. You will also receive a STEM Certificate every time you successfully complete a course, helping to demonstrate your commitment to professional development.

The early careers pathway is designed to support you over the first two years of your teaching career and will comprise of a minimum of 43 hours of CPD, however dependent upon your needs you can design a suite of support to suit you.
