I'm a physicist by degree but have mostly worked in engineering. I've worked for Rolls Royce (civil aero engines), Royal Air Force (16 years as an engineering officer covering a range of disciplines including software for the E3-D AWACS, weapons systems for Harriers, ground equipment and configuration for Tornados, communications & data systems), 9 years as an independent contractor project manager (mostly technical, IT and cyber security), then worked for Boeing then Atkins (technical & project management consultancy).
