Focus of the Month: Inclusion with Explorify

By Jenny Toft-Eriksen posted 09-10-2025 09:21

This month in the STEM Community, we’re shining a spotlight on inclusion in science teaching. Every classroom brings together pupils with different strengths, needs and experiences. For teachers, that means finding ways to make sure every child can take part, feel confident, and succeed in science.

To help with this, check out STEM Learning’s Explorify for Inclusion Hub, a dedicated space full of practical strategies and classroom examples that show how to make science learning accessible for all.

What is the Explorify for Inclusion Hub?

The Inclusion Hub is built around real classroom practice. Teachers share how they’ve adapted Explorify activities to support pupils with SEND, those learning English as an additional language, and others who might need different ways into science discussions. You’ll find:

  • Strategies to reduce barriers and build confidence
  • Examples of how Explorify tasks can be adapted for diverse learners
  • Ideas to encourage talk, questioning and curiosity for every child
  • Stories from classrooms that show inclusion in action

Why it matters

Explorify is already known for sparking curiosity and discussion in primary science. The Inclusion Hub takes this further by ensuring no pupil is left out of those conversations. With small changes and thoughtful approaches, teachers can help all learners feel they belong in science.

Join the conversation

Over the month we’ll be sharing:

  • Blogs from teachers and specialists on inclusion in STEM
  • Practical classroom ideas and adaptable resources
  • Stories that highlight the difference inclusive practice can make

We’d love to hear your thoughts too. How do you adapt science teaching in your classroom to support every learner? See our previous post and share your thoughts here.
