Summer Term Bulletin

Welcome to the Professional Learning Leads summer term update. There are just a few updates to share this time, so please take a moment to read them carefully. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Thank you, Paul and the PLLP Team.

Impact and Quality Data.

Every PLL who has delivered a course in the Spring term (1st Jan to 30th April) will soon be receiving a PDF report showing delivery quality data.

The report will show the response rate, overall quality as well as a breakdown of the 6-course facilitation-based questions. The report will come from our central support team. This should support you in reflecting on your delivery/

As a follow up to this we remind you all that ensuring participants complete their ITK quality survey at the end of any applicable course is essential, and that the minimum standard we have set (in the PLL Handbook available from PLL Resource Centre) is 50% for face to face and 25% for live-online.

Any PLL consistently falling below that 25% figure will need a follow up, so please work to increase your response rates as they are vital to the success of our courses moving forward.

If you require any support let me know.

Pathway 2 – Effective Consultancy and Coaching.

The course ‘Effective Consultancy and Coaching has now been developed and quality assured and is ready to be piloted. We intend to run instances in June and July.

If you were previously an associate and want to be added to the consultant database to be considered in any of our programmes needing school level support (NCCE, SIF, SKPT etc) you will need to complete the full pathway,

For previous Lead PLLs, we do encourage you to attend the whole course however special instances will be put on with only the content needed. We will be in touch with Lead PLLs to inform them of the opportunity.

NCCE and SKPT contract extensions.

Incase you didn't know, it has been confirmed that STEM Learning will remain the contract holder for both the NCCE and the SKPT programme until at least August 2027.

Both programmes will continue to need some level of PLL support linked to authoring, delivery and consultancy, please keep an eye on the PLL Opportunities group, visible in the PLL resource centre. I will use this opportunity to remind you all to bookmark the PLL Resource centre.

Helpful Reminders:

  • The PLL Resource Centre gives you access to all guidance and the latest opportunities. More authoring and consultancy-based opportunities are certainly coming soon, so watch this space, and bookmark the resource centre.

  • To help ensure you are considered for courses, please keep your STEM dashboard profile up to date and make sure it includes all relevant information.

  • There is upcoming downtime of the dashboards while we switch platforms so now is the best time to be up to date.

  • Stay informed and help spread our messages through linked in.
