May Focus of the Month: Primary STEM

This month we’re celebrating Primary STEM, with a focus on bringing science, technology, engineering and maths to life in engaging, meaningful and accessible ways for younger learners.

Primary STEM is about more than individual subjects. It is about helping pupils make connections, explore ideas and see how their learning applies in the real world. By building in hands-on activities, problem solving and opportunities to ask questions, STEM education can enrich the wider curriculum and support knowledge, understanding and skill development across subjects .

Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing practical classroom ideas, resources and approaches to support confident STEM teaching, alongside opportunities to connect with STEM Ambassadors and the wider Community . Expect inspiration for cross-curricular learning, ways to build curiosity and confidence, and strategies to help every child see themselves in STEM.

AI Sprints Season 2 is now live

Season 1 of AI Sprints brought trusted voices together for live, classroom-first conversations on AI—covering intentional leadership, trustworthy assessment (and its limits), equity and the “third digital divide,” and practical wins such as AI-supported feedback loops and SEND-friendly tools.

The key message for teachers was clear: keep the human firmly in the loop, teach critical AI literacy, use evidence, and apply AI where it clearly improves learning—safely, fairly, and with professional judgement at the centre.

You can still catch up on all Season 1 sessions on demand and take ready-to-use ideas straight into your classroom.
