Raising Aspirations: free STEM Ambassador online mentoring for 16-18 year olds

The STEM Ambassador programme, in partnership with Brightside charity, is launching a free national online mentoring scheme to support young people aged 16-18 who are interested in STEM.

Available from end of February to May 2021, the programme pairs each young person with a STEM Ambassadors volunteer who is ready to support them with exploring STEM career options, helping them to feel more confident about their future.

Over the 10 weeks, mentoring will take place flexibly around the students commitments, using Brightside's secure online platform. Students will communicate with STEM Ambassadors through a moderated messaging system and all STEM Ambassadors are DBS or PVG checked as standard.

Young people taking part will receive:

  • one to one support and inspiration from a STEM Ambassador
  • training on how to use Brightside’s secure messaging system
  • support and resources to help them make informed decisions about their future

Please encourage young people to register for the mentoring programme here, by Sunday 21 February.
